FULL TRANSCRIPT BELOW

We’ve worked with hundreds of products and produced thousands of UGCs – many of which have been in the top 1% of performance on TikTok(as you can see in the transcript of this episode).

After having seen thousands of these ads from close up – and after having used ChatGPT to dramatically improve the performance and output of our UGCs, we’ve been able to connect the dots and see some patterns – especially on how to most effectively use AI tools such as ChatGPT.

In this episode, I’ll walk you through how we recommend doing product and audience research, and also generating concept ideas using ChatGPT.

I’m thrilled to take you on this journey, so let’s dive in!

  1. Defining your product and audience research to train ChatGPT

Crafting exceptional creative strategies requires in-depth research on your brand and customers. And thanks to ChatGPT, this process has become more efficient than ever before. We recommend by introducing our product or app we’re marketing and describe our target audience to help ‘train’ ChatGPT into the kind of output we want to generate.

Of course you need to play around with the prompts and re-generate a few responses by adding specific details, but it all becomes easier once you know how to use it the right way.

So let us look into some examples of how we proceed in training the AI-tool. To illustrate, let’s consider a travel booking app named XYZ. We will first provide ChatGPT with the following information:

“We have a travel booking app named XYZ. The main features of the app include easy-to-use interface, personalized recommendations, and hassle-free booking process.”

Here, we are describing these characteristics of the app we’re promoting that will enable it to grasp the key aspects and value proposition of the app.

Now, to further refine the prompt, we’ll add details about our target audience. This step enhances ChatGPT’s comprehension. “Our target audience is both male and female, aged between 18 to 45. These are young adventurers traveling with friends, family vacation seekers and solo travelers.”

Defining the target audience enables ChatGPT to generate user personas aligned with their motivations, goals, pain points, and expectations of the product you want to market.

As the third step, we’ll clearly define the task for ChatGPT by being specific and detailed about our requirements. The prompt goes as follows: “Provide user personas highlighting their motivations, goals, pain points, and expectations based on the main features of the app.”

Once ChatGPT has all the necessary information about your product and target audience, you can request a creative strategy and refine it further through editing.

This was about researching your target audience and their user personas. Now, let’s dive into some of the ChatGPT prompts that generate compelling concept ideas tailored to your needs.

  1. Generating concept ideas from ChatGPT

Here is an example of the prompt we use to generate text copy, that can be used within the ads and headlines.

“Share copy recommendations for the travel app, showcasing the features of the app. Make sure they are catchy and clickbaity, and include emojis.”

This is one of the responses we got from ChatGPT:

“Unlock a world of tailored adventures! Our app’s AI-powered recommendations will take you to places you’ve only dreamed of. Let your wanderlust guide you!”

As you see, this includes the key details we had provided ChatGPT in one of our first prompts: ease-of-use and personalized recommendations.

Moving on to the next prompt where we ask ChatGPT to generate a static ad concept.

“Craft a Facebook static ad concept for the XYZ travel app with visual cues, highlighting its main features.”

ChatGPT comes up with these suggestions:

[Visual: Happy travelers using the XYZ Travel App on their smartphones]

Copy: “Join millions of satisfied travelers! 🌟✨ Experience the joy of travel with XYZ Travel App. Download now and start exploring the world!”

Now, let us generate another prompt for a video script.

“Share scenes for an animated video concept for the travel app with catchy copy for each scene.”

Here’s what ChatGPT suggests:

[Visual: An animated globe spinning, with different landmarks appearing and disappearing]

Copy: “From iconic landmarks to hidden gems.”

Voiceover: “Discover breathtaking destinations tailored just for you.”

You can also add details in the above prompt to include the timestamp and text copy for each scene.

Well, these are some of the prompts we use to generate creative concepts at RocketShip HQ. While ChatGPT provides you with a starting point, you still need to make the necessary edits and refine your concepts to align with each brand and its target audience.
